DEVATOP Supports Survivors of Human Trafficking and other abuses with Hygiene and Dignity Care Kits Through Strategic Partnerships

Devatop Centre for Africa Development (DEVATOP) continues to advance survivor-centered responses to child abuse, human trafficking, gender-based violence (GBV), and other forms of abuse across Nigeria by providing hygiene and dignity care kits to affected individuals. This intervention prioritizes survivors’ immediate needs while restoring dignity, safety, and well-being.
In addition to survivors in shelters and community settings, child domestic workers reached through Child Mentorship Forums were also supported, recognizing their heightened vulnerability and the need for early protection and care interventions.
The initiative was implemented through strong collaboration with government institutions and civil society partners, including National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), Auxano Foundation for Empowerment and Development (AFED), and Media Coalition and Awareness to Halt Human Trafficking (MeCAHT). Through these partnerships, DEVATOP reached survivors and vulnerable children in safe, coordinated, and ethical ways.
In total, 179 hygiene and dignity care kits were distributed. The kits, carefully assembled to meet diverse needs contained essential personal care items that helped survivors and child domestic workers regain comfort and confidence during recovery. Beyond material support, the distribution process reinforced survivor protection principles and facilitated referrals to psychosocial, protection, and case management services where needed.
This impactful intervention was made possible through the Foreign Aid Bridge Fund, and was hosted and managed by Panorama Global, whose stewardship ensured effective coordination and accountability.
At its core, this initiative reflects DEVATOP’s commitment to collaborative, survivor-led, and dignity-affirming responses. By working hand-in-hand with government agencies and civil society organizations, DEVATOP continues to strengthen protective environments and deliver practical support that meets survivors where they are helping them heal, rebuild, and move forward.
