Strengthening Partnerships for Child Protection

Devatop Centre for Africa Development (DEVATOP) conducted an advocacy visit to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) to strengthen collaboration and reinforce joint efforts in combating human trafficking and protecting vulnerable children. The DEVATOP team was received by the South-West Zonal Commander, Comfort Agboko, alongside her team. The visit provided a valuable platform for both organizations to engage in meaningful dialogue and align strategies for more effective intervention.

During the meeting, DEVATOP shared key updates and insights from its project activities across communities, highlighting notable progress, lessons learned, and the realities faced by child domestic workers. These insights underscored the importance of sustained collaboration in addressing the complex challenges surrounding child protection.

The discussion also focused on identifying existing gaps within the current system, particularly in the areas of coordination and response. Both teams explored practical approaches to strengthening referral pathways, improving inter-agency collaboration, and ensuring that survivors of abuse and exploitation receive timely and adequate support.

DEVATOP expressed its sincere appreciation for NAPTIP’s continued partnership and support, recognizing the agency’s critical role in advancing protection efforts and ensuring accountability. The visit concluded with a shared commitment to deepening collaboration and driving sustainable solutions that safeguard the rights and well-being of children, especially those at risk of exploitation and abuse.
